Flea markets in Stockholm

Stockholm has some of the most popular flea markets in Scandinavia, and they are becoming more and more popular each year. Whether you are after find a bargain, some vintage outfits or to loose some of your ‘treasures’ Stockholm has at least one flea market for your desires. 

Återviningsfesten

Återviningsfesten(the recycling party) is Scandinavia’s biggest flea market with 40 000 visitors, a lot of people but that means a lot of vendors. This is an annual event that is arranged the last Sunday of May, this year it was on the 31 of May between 10:00 to 16:00. All the people of the neighborhood Hornstull are allowed to set up a table and sell their stuff outside their buildings, so it’s a pretty big flea market. This is an amazing flea market and it’s for free like most flea markets.

How to get there from T-Centralen

Get on the subways red line that goes either to Fruängen or Norsborg and step of at Hornstull, this train ride only takes 7 minutes.

Skärholmens loppis

A 22 minute train away with the subway you will find a one of Stockholm’s most famous flea markets, it is Sweden’s biggest flea market that is open every day. Here you can find second hand furniture, glass, vinyl discs, watches, retro video games, clothes and much more. You can even sell you own stuff if you rent a table here. From Monday to Friday its free, Saturdays cost 15 kroner and Sundays cost 10 kroner. If you come after 15:00 it’s for free but then again you just get an hour to brows all the cool stuff.

Get on the subways red line that to Norsborg and step of at Skärholmen this train journey takes 22 minutes and has a nice view.

2 kilometers flea market in Aspudden

This flea market is very long and is excellent if you want to combine a walk with some antic browsing outdoors. It’s totally free and there are Swedish refreshments and baked goods for you enjoy on your treasure hunt. The locals are very helpful and talkative. Great way to have an conversation with the locals a little outside the inner city.

If you want to attend they have a facebook page with more info but it is in Swedish, but you can send them a message in English and they will probably be more than happy to reply and inform you about when the next one is.

Back trunk flea market

In Sweden there there are flea markets that consists of people selling their second hand things from their trunks, there are pretty big and it’s fun to see what everyone is trying to get rid of. One of those is the back trunk flea market in the garage of Liljeholmen galleria, if you haven’t had fun in a mall garage theres a first for everything. This happens every Sunday from October to December and January to May, it’s a free and very well visited and the weather cant ruin your excursion.

There are a lot more flea markets all year around and the locals love them, so just ask any body and they will probably know one or two that are occurring while you are visiting Stockholm.
